Make a Bootable SafeSquid Secure Web Gateway USB device Using balenaEtcher

Overview

A bootable USB drive streamlines the SafeSquid installation process by offering a fast, reliable, and portable alternative to traditional CD/DVD media, overcoming the absence of optical drives in modern computers. Its versatility and speed facilitate efficient setups across various hardware, making it an essential tool for installing operating systems in today's computing environments.

Prerequisites

  1. Download safesquid.iso  file.
  2. Download balenaEtcher and install balenaEtcher in your system.

How to Create a Bootable USB Drive using BalenaEtcher

Open balenaEtcher.

Click on “Flash from file” and select the location where safesquid.iso file was downloaded
Insert a USB disk and click on “Select target”
Click on the check box for the device you wish to use a bootable device.
click “Select”
Now your USB Device is ready to flash. 
(Note: As soon as you click flash the data in your USB stick will be wiped)
Eject the device once the flashing has completed.
